Those who have known Laurin the longest were not surprised to learn of her founding Cambridge Row. As a young girl, she considered every book report or science project a piece of art. Each one deserved her wholehearted time, creativity, and precision.

Years later, she graduated with honors from Auburn University's prestigious Interior Design program which was ranked No. 1 by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation at the time. Between her undergraduate and graduate studies, she interned and then worked with two commercial architecture firms in Washington D.C. and Charlotte, respectively. Fascinated by the public-policy side of design, she entered into Georgetown University's Master's program for Urban and Regional planning. Her thesis explored ways in which urban design and community development influence low-income school districts in the Houston area, earning her graduating class' Outstanding Capstone Presentation Award.

Laurin's graduate work impressed upon her an important principle: there is a direct correlation between the design of the spaces around us and our quality of life. She looks forward to applying this knowledge base and her love for people as she works directly with homeowners, business owners, builders, and industry partners.

OUR NAMESAKE

"Cambridge" is the street name of Laurin's grandparents' home. From their floor-to-ceiling windows to their beautiful rose garden, it was the first place she noticed architecture and design. Every room was planned to the most intricate detail, especially during the holidays. It was then Laurin realized the great power of design: the ability to make anyone feel not just welcome, but valued.

"Row" represents the row houses in Washington, D.C., the city where Bryan and Laurin first met. Many of their first dates included wandering through Georgetown and looking at the beautiful homes. Laurin always loved imagining their interiors and still hopes to design one someday.

These memories became the building blocks of Cambridge Row's mission: helping others feel valued by adding beauty to the spaces where they live and work.
